About Us
During the Mughal rule in 14th century their intention to annex the southern part of India made the Vijayanagar rulers to protect the Kingdom. which then included Tamil Nadu thus the Telugu families of then the Vijayanagar-Kingdom came to Tamilnadu and settled in 50 villages. Agriculture was their predominant occupation these communities were later on known as “Panta Reddiar”.
Though they were minority in the settled regions. They occupied highest and Powerful positions in local administrations, as village magistrates, village board presidents, Jilla presidents, village maniyams…
They were great Patriots. It was evident by their participation in the movements led by Mahatma Gandhiji like Satyagraha, Quit India moment and other boycotts following nonviolence, this ideals won the hearts of the natives, around their dwelling.
History Timeline
Panta Reddiar Thirumamana Mandapam was razed down and cleaned in March-April 2025.
TPR Sangam announced in AGM on 29th May 2025 that a new 4 storied building planned to be constructed with about 40 modern rooms, suits and basement 2 floors mechanical car park.
Many have come forward to donate Rs.lakhs, Rs.7.5 lakhs & Rs.10 lakhs on the basis TPR Sangam gave assurance of yearly accomodation on priority basis… Over Rs.3 crores commitments announced. And TPR Sangam honoured the committed donees.
To construct Meenakshi Niketan complex in th erstwhile TPR Thirumana Mandapam site, BOOMI POOJA conducted on Friday, 28th August 2025.
On this day some more members came forward to contribute. commited families were honoured.

Another floor (1st) was being constructed in the Old age home with an accommodation for 64 in it was built from the donation rendered by Tmt. Neelambal Duraiswamy Reddiyar. Now the home is run by the Panta Reddiyar Sangam.

Honourable internal affairs minister Brahmananda Reddy the presidential speech was translated by Mr P.Chidambaram added to this the grand opening ceremony ‘Banquet Hall’ of Meenakshi marriage hall was presided by then the Honourable chief minister of Pondicherry Venkata Subbha Reddy.The society has rich heritage of the past.
Justice Krishnaswamy laid the foundation stone for the construction of a marriage hall in the property belonging to the society. later named as “Meenakshi marriage hall”.
This communal society was registered and functions abiding the rules of the government-periodical meeting, quarterly executive committee meet, Annual General Body Meeting is held for the betterment. Three years once new office bearers are elected to monitor, design and implement various constructive activities. It is followed in the best way.
Registered the students education help scheme Donations were collected and distributed among the needy and deserving to uplift them.
At the advent of independence great scholars of the community were identified and honoured with the gold medals,so as to motivate the upcoming generation of the society.This was an epitome and great pride of the dedicated functionaries.
